Best Vegetarian food @ Trivandrum

Arya Nivas, is one of very few restaurants in trivandrum which serve your tamil type food...

Arya Nivas located near the Railway station serves quality tamil food.

Trust me, its the place where I tasted the best vegetarian food here at Trivadrum.

Step into Arya Nivas and you will find a whole array of popular Tamil tiffins like idly, dosa, vada, pongal, rava idli, uthappam, rava dosa, etc.

Meals is also very good @ Arya Nivas, served with a variety of curries and porrials.

Arya Nivas would always be over flowing with people but when you get there while the tables are full, a waiter would come to you and ask you to wait in the reception, you will be called in order when any of the table is freed up. You don't have to play musical chair as we do in other resturants out here :).

Quality is too good
Not much expensive

Meals + Fish curry + Fish fry @ Rs 22!

There is a small mess near Nila back gate owned by a Chechi. They call it Chechi's house. Much cheaper, homely, spicy, kerala style food for lunch. You can have Meals + Fish curry + Fish fry + Two thooku @ Rs 22. . Only negative thing is that she offers only typical kerala red rice, but you can have it for a change.
Many keralites from Technopark prefer this place for lunch. So it'll be rush during lunch and food will be completed before 2 pm. You have to be there by atleast by 1:30. I use to go there once in a week or two.

Directions: You have to walk 50 meters from Nila back gate and take a right.

Kari-meen Pollichathu at B6 (Non veg)

Well, this is the first dish which I liked very much here. Myself and my team mates went to B6 one day for lunch. I don't have to tell where B6 restaurant is! Every techparkian knows it. But for newbies here: It is right opposite to technopark front gate :).
Everyone ordered the usual chicken fry and chicken biriyani(yuk...the biryani here, I hate the most). I selected kari-meen pollichathu( for its strange name!) for starter. But it was yummy, spicy and hot. I've heard fish the traditional food of kerala but I realized it only after having kari-meen pollichathu. Keralites are the specialists in cooking fish.
Fish is grilled after enveloped in a sprig of curry leaf on a banana leaf. It is served with the leaf cover along with lime and salad in a hot tawa. You have to un cover the leaf to taste your kari-meen. Once if you taste it, you'll feel as if you're opening a greeting card from your loved one while un-covering the leaf!
And I warn you! be careful with the tawa! It'll be too hot, I boiled my hands twice :(.
Believe me, it is worth giving a try. And it'll be available only during lunch time.

Food @ Technopark

Hi all,

This is Nisha. My native is Chennai when I moved here for my work @ technopark. I was excited to come to god's own country and the greenest IT park in India. I use to eat out usually since I spend most of my time with computers. But food was really a mess in the restaurants here. I am a consiour of food but I hate cooking. I really missed chennai very much esp Karaikudi resturant, Murugan idly kadai, KFC and Anjappar :(. I almost hated everything i found here. But later after exploring I found there are many restaurants out here in and around Technopark which provide mouth watering dishes.
But when I started here, no one was there to guide me about the dishes here. Its been an year since I came down to Trivandrum and I know almost nook and corner here(From thattu kada to Hotel Mascot!). I just started this blog to discuss about the dishes I've tasted and I loved most and where I tasted it. I am damn sure you'll love it too!! Leave me a comment if you like it!
